About Us

Founded in 1974, Olde English Outfitters has been supplying the Miami Valley with quality shooting and hunting equipment for 50 years. Our store has grown dramatically from its humble beginnings as a small operation to a 10,000 square foot facility with over 25 full and part-time employees. We have a comprehensive selection of merchandise including over 2,500 guns, a full-line archery "Pro Shop", ammunition, reloading equipment, gun cases, holsters, safes and many other shooting and hunting accessories.

1974

The Foundation: Olde English Outfitters Begins

Ron and Paula English founded Olde English Outfitters in the basement of their family home, specializing in collectable firearms and the sports of shooting and hunting. The store began with Ron putting his personal collection of firearms up for sale.

Mid-1970 to Early 1980

Early Beginnings: A Family Operation

Evan English, Ron's son, started working in the store at the age of 10, developing a love for hunting and shooting and learning the business from his parents. The "basement" shop quickly grew in popularity due to its commitment to service and quality products.

1985

First Official Employee: Expanding the Family Business

Mitch English, Evan's cousin, became the first official employee of Olde English Outfitters at the age of 23. He was already an avid collector of military firearms and relics, and his knowledge and passion for guns and shooting made him an integral part of the business. He now serves as our General Manager.

1986

A New Home: Building for Growth

Due to the store's rapid growth, a 5,000 square foot building was constructed to accommodate the expanding business and new merchandise lines. This move marked a significant step forward for Olde English Outfitters, allowing for further growth and development.

1994

Doubling Down: Expanding the Facility and Team

Another 5,000 square foot addition was made to the store, bringing the facility to its current size of 10,000 square feet. Kirt Cornell, another cousin, joined the team as Warehouse Manager, further strengthening the family involvement in the business. He now serves as our Operations Manager.

2012

Joining Forces: A Husband and Wife Team

Evan's wife, Layne, joined the business after their sons were grown, bringing her skills of organization and administration to the company. Together, they pursued the next level of growth for Olde English Outfitters, maintaining the family-run nature of the business while focusing on their priorities of God, Family, and Business.

Legacy and Commitment: A Family Business Expands

Today, Olde English Outfitters remains a family-run business with over 25 full and part-time employees. The store continues to thrive with the opening of an entirely new 37,000 square foot facility in the fall of 2024. While continuing to offer a comprehensive selection of shooting and hunting merchandise, a large indoor archery range and larger retail areasare being added. They will continue to be known for excellent customer service and quality products even with this massive expansion. The sales staff, many of whom have been with the company for over ten years, actively participate in hunting or shooting sports, ensuring that customers receive knowledgeable and accurate service.
